About

Diverse Representation is an  initiative aimed at increasing the exposure and number of African-American agents, attorneys, managers, publicists and executives working in the sports and entertainment industry. This summer we are hosting a monthly lunch series featuring African-American owned production companies. You can learn more about us here.

Makiah Green

Creative Executive

Makiah Green is a Creative Executive across film and television at MACRO, a production company focused on the multicultural market. Through her work, she aims to tell fresh, contemporary stories that speak to the varied and nuanced experiences of people of color. As an outspoken advocate of provocative and timely projects like Sorry to Bother You and Really Love, she loves championing new voices and supporting emerging filmmakers.

In addition to her work at MACRO, Makiah is a writer, entrepreneur and activist. She is the Founder of Black Book LA, a thriving community of over 20,000 people that connects Black millennials to the best events, Black-owned businesses, jobs, and affordable housing in the Greater Los Angeles area. Makiah is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Master’s degree in Professional Writing and a B.A. in English-Creative Writing.

Mark R. Wright

Creative Executive

Mark R. Wright is a Creative Executive in the film group at MACRO. His goal is to push boundaries and expand the range of images people of color have been limited to in the traditional media landscape, which aligns perfectly with the company’s mission. Mark’s ambition and commitment to championing inventive and genre-bending narratives helped bring the feature film THEY CLONED TYRONE to the slate, which he developed and will Executive Produce.

Prior to joining MACRO, Mark produced several short films, including an award-winning science fiction short, Prototype, which premiered at the 2018 American Black Film Festival. The Cleveland native also spent four seasons with the Cavaliers as a publicist before deciding to follow his dream to pursue a career as a film producer. Mark earned an M.F.A. in Producing from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Communication from Ohio University.
